Waltzing Analytics

Football analytics, modelling & recruitment research.

About Me

I’m Marc Lamberts, a football analyst and recruitment researcher specialising in football data science, tactical analysis, player profiling and recruitment strategy.

Over the last years I have worked across different environments in football, combining scouting, performance analysis and data modelling to better understand the game and support recruitment processes.

My analytical work focuses heavily on translating complex data into actionable football insight. I research player development, recruitment efficiency, tactical structures, set pieces, game states and predictive football models.

I’ve written extensively about football analytics and tactical research through Waltzing Analytics, Medium and independent publications, covering topics such as Hidden Markov Models, Expected Goals, passing networks, set-piece analysis, shot prediction models and tactical role identification.

My previous experience includes recruitment and opposition analysis roles in men’s and women’s football across several countries, including work with clubs such as :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}, :contentReference[oaicite:1]{index=1}, :contentReference[oaicite:2]{index=2}, :contentReference[oaicite:3]{index=3} and :contentReference[oaicite:4]{index=4}.

Waltzing Analytics serves as a platform to combine football, data science, scouting and storytelling — with the aim of exploring the game through both numbers and context.
