I'm a football data analyst, engineer, and scout, and I treat those as one job rather than three. Whether the source is Opta, StatsBomb, IMPECT, SkillCorner, or Wyscout, the same event and tracking data that trains an xG model also feeds the pipeline that keeps it running and the report that lands on a coach's desk. Over a decade of doing this for clubs and federations across four continents has taught me that a model nobody trusts is worthless, so every finding comes with a plain read on how much to believe it.
